The sign up for ASK’s 2017 Summer Camp is now upon us and we look forward to welcoming campers, staff and volunteers both old and new! The camp this year runs over four weeks from the 17th July until the 11th of August and we are looking forward to enjoying our new location at Institut International de Lancy in Geneva.
This year we have some brand new team members including Sarah Lee who joins our Camp Coordinator team, her experience working in Accident & Emergency Departments and social work will surely add some great skills to our core leadership team.
We also welcome Eurydice Labaki, an Art Therapist focusing on Expressive and Creative Arts, to lead our Art programme across the four weeks. These sessions follow exciting themes such as: Wild West, Superheroes, Around the World and Messy Olympics. The campers always love the Art sessions and this year’s look set to be some of the best!
The familiar faces returning are Steve and Katherine in Camp Coordinator roles – both looking to lead some fabulous new activities including working with Shakespeare and identifying individual objectives with personalised name tags. As well as the always highly anticipated Friday showcase for parents, siblings and friends. Dimitri returns in a consultant role, sharing his valuable knowledge to prepare for camp. William Sturt-Scobie joins us again as Assistant Camp Coordinator to ensure our weekly outings run smoothly. This year we look to visit farm yard animals, a high-wire adventure in the trees and a lovely afternoon lounging at the pool (covered in sun cream of course).
Silke and Jo, Vinciane, Chantal and Laura return in their roles as Head Teachers, Friendship Group Leader, Social Skills Leader and Graduate Leader respectively with brand new support from volunteer mentors: Thea Simpson and Sara Wilkins. The campers have a lot to look forward to with social games, semi-individualised (FUN) study sessions and life skills programmes. All of these are designed to not only target individual and group objectives, but also to link to our weekly themes thereby allowing campers to make progress on their own goals in a fun filled, creative, safe and supportive atmosphere.
So, make sure you sign up early to what promises to be a fun, educational and lively 2017 ASK Summer Camp!!!
