The theme for week 2 was ‘SUPER SCIENCE’. We made a lot of cool experiments and even exploded a volcano.
The social skills group did a lot of social thinking this week. Their classes started with reading a book about a social topic such as making a group plan, thinking thoughts, and feeling feelings. They then moved on to another activity based on what they had just read, and if they sometimes got distracted they were able to express that through the thought bubble. Everyone worked really well together and got some great work done.
The study skills group had a great time learning about shapes, even going so far as to building their own shapes. The challenge was then to see whether you could blow bubbles through the shapes. They also worked very hard on a camp newsletter which was shared with the parents at our end of week show.
The friendship group had a great time playing outside, doing puzzles, solving some maths and doing reading comprehension. They also participated very well in all the activities outside of the friendship room with the other campers such as our trip to the reptile museum!
