ASK strives to empower parents to face the daily challenge of helping their son/daughter find success within the family, school, and community. Parent consultation offers resource information on schools and special programs, referrals to local doctors and therapists, information on available support services, and recreation activities, which meet the individual needs of the child. During the consultation, specific issues faced by the child and family can be discussed and general guidance provided. Parents seeking a consultation will meet with a psychologist with experience supporting children and adults with different learning needs.
Please note that it is possible to have two kinds of consultation at ASK : Informative consultation for parents and Parent-Child Consultation.
